In this article, we're going to show you how you can send SMS messages in bulk in LMN.
Please note, before you can send your customer text messages, you need to enable this feature for them on your CRM.
First, click on CRM from the left hand side of your screen then select contacts:
Once you're on your contacts page, select one or all contacts and then click on update contacts, then select update sms settings
from here, click on "update to", and select one of the three options: either select not to send any text messages to selected contacts, or, enable text messaging to your preferred saved phone number. Once done, click on OK and click on yes to confirm
You can also do the same by selecting each individual CRM contact, under the contacts tab, click on their name, and from here, change your preference.
There are five different areas of LMN from which an SMS bulk-send can be generated:
- Whiteboard — great for sending a reminder out to all customers for a crew’s upcoming visits the next day or week, or for letting customers know about a visit reschedule/postponement.
- Schedule Review — helpful if you want to send reminders/notices to all the visits associated with a specific service.
- Job List — for if you want to send an SMS to a grouping of customers whose visits won’t be scheduled by your team (e.g. messaging snow customers in advance of a weather event)
- Timesheet Daily Review — helpful for sending follow-up messages to customers who received visits earlier that day.
- Individual Job View — for when you just want to send a one-off message to a customer while you're making an update to their job.
Sending via Whiteboard — from the main Board view
First, click on your schedule tool, then, select whiteboard.
Once you're on this page, select the crew or group of crews. Then, select the date on which they have jobs scheduled.
Once the jobs are selected, click on "whiteboard actions" and from here, click on Select all visits
from the top of your screen, you can click on send SMS button.
You will see that the software automatically selected contacts from those jobs and it's time for you to add your text message.
You can either draft one from scratch, or, you can select an existing template from the library.
Once the template has been added, click "Send"
The software now automatically bulk sends all those messages to respective customers.
To check the status of this bulk attempt, click on Settings then select SMS Notification, from here, click on "view history".
Sending via the Whiteboard while performing a 'Shift Dates' Action
When you make a selection of Whiteboard visits then click on the 'Shift Dates' button, you'll now notice that the modal that opens has a 'Notify clients about change with SMS' toggle:
If you leave this checked on and proceed to click 'Update,' the ‘Send To’ SMS composition modal will open showing the affected visits’ contacts as the message recipients.
Sending via the Schedule Review page
You can also send messages from your schedule review page, if you want to send reminders or notices to all the visits associated with a specific service.
To access the "Schedule Review" Click on the Schedule tool in the left menu, then select "Schedule Review".
If you want to send a service reminder to all customers with a Fertilization Service scheduled within a specific date range. Select the date range, then select the service to send reminders.
Once done, select one or more than one job to send a scheduled service reminder about.
Click on send SMS, the rest remains as previously explained.
Sending via the Job List
If you want to send an SMS to a group of customers whose visits won't be scheduled by your team, example of this, can be messaging snow customers in advance of a weather event), do that from the job list page.
To access your Job List, click Jobs in the main left menu, then select Job List
Using the "job Group" filter, select the group you would like to send a SMS notification for
Select one or more jobs from here, then click on "Update Jobs" and select "Send SMS"
Sending via Daily Timesheet Review
When reviewing a day's timesheets, just check off a selection of timesheets shown, then click the 'Send SMS' button (at top right) to begin composing a message to the contact(s) associated with those visits:
Sending via an Individual Job's Overview Tab
When viewing a single job, drop down the Action menu and select the new 'Send SMS' option to begin generating a message that will be sent to that job's contact:
